Three pantry things sold together — pasta, tomato sauce and chilli oil — with a recipe that turns them into dinner in twenty minutes.
The bundle exists because the chilli oil does the work. Added off the heat at the very end, it keeps its aroma and makes a plain tomato sauce taste like it was cooked for an hour.
We put this bundle together ourselves, from Italian pasta and sauce we already keep on the shelf.
Boil the pasta in well-salted water and keep half a cup of the water back. Warm the sauce, loosen it with that water until it turns glossy, toss the pasta through it, then take the pan off the heat and add the chilli oil. Salt and pepper are enough; parmesan, basil or lemon zest if you have them.
