« Merci du fond du beurre » swaps « cœur », heart, for « beurre », butter, so the thanks come from the bottom of the butter instead. It only works because there is a great deal of butter in the biscuit.
The messages are stamped into the dough one biscuit at a time, before baking, with Île-de-France wheat flour, AOP Isigny Sainte-Mère butter and free-range eggs. Twelve biscuits to a box, six different lines, each one twice.
We give the box whole and let the person read their way through it. It also works taken apart, one biscuit at a time, left somewhere they will find it.
